A Paradise bakery has closed its doors for good amid financial woes and other factors.
Owner Dominique Anse, who owns Eden Bakeries, told ESPN he was forced to close the business due to financial challenges.
“We’re in the midst of the worst recession we’ve ever seen,” Ansel said.
“We have a huge hole in the bottom line that we’ve been battling for a long time.”
The business is currently in a loss, according to Ansel.
It’s not clear what is causing the problems.
Ansel is still paying his employees and the owners of Eden Bakets, a private, independent, family-owned business, are owed about $400,000.
He said he was unsure what the business would do without his employees.
He told ESPN that he will be making some cuts in the next couple of weeks.
He said the company is still accepting orders for the past few months.
AstraZeneca, which owns the Bakery, has not responded to CNNMoney’s request for comment.
